In the final mission of the Ad Astra Program, Astro Recruits have demonstrated successful exploration, development and habitation of another world, they must work to create a science outpost on the “Red Planet”. Focusing on career clusters like Public Administration and Law, campers will construct government entities and establish necessary rules for Martian life. Campers must determine how best to map the planet for further development by working both on land and underwater through a number of robotics exercises, including one where recruits will operate a life-sized rover.

Activities:

  • Complete a mission to establish life on a new planet using both the Cosmosphere’s Mission Control Center and featuring the NEW Astralis capsule-based simulator modeled after the NASA Orion capsule
  • Build and learn to maneuver a “Sea Perch” underwater robot
